  • City of Fairhope Celebrates America Recycles Day with Community Shredding & Electronic Recycling

    Fairhope is doing its part for America Recycles Day, Saturday, November 15, 2014. “That day, from 8am to 2pm, we will have a lot of recycling activities at the Public Works yard (555 S. Section Street), including receptacles for all types of recyclable items, a shredder truck, a used-bike silent auction, and information to help people recycle on a daily basis,” said Dale Linder, Fairhope Environmental Officer. “We invite not only city residents but those from outlying areas to come take advantage of the day.”

  • FAIRHOPE SETS DATES FOR COMMUNITY MEETINGS TO UPDATE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

  • City of Fairhope will begin Routine Flushing of the Water Distribution System

    The City of Fairhope will begin routine flushing of its water distribution system beginning Wednesday, October 1 and continuing through Friday, November 14. The Water Department will start flushing at 7:30 a.m. each morning and continue until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Alabama’s Medicaid Program: Impact on the Citizens of Alabama

    Some Alabama citizens have joined the League of Women Voters (LWV) to hold a forum entitled, Alabama’s Medicaid Program: Impact on the Citizens of Alabama. The forum’s purpose is to clarify the effects of the current Medicaid program on Alabama citizens and the effects of the uninsured on the stability of Alabama’s health care system.

    Senior citizens and their loved ones are invited to the 9th Annual Health & Wealth Fair on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the James P. Nix Center in Fairhope.   • Fairhope Police to participate in “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign

    The Fairhope Police Department will be participating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) program entitled “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” Using grant money made available through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), the Fairhope Police Department will be scheduling additional police patrols until the end of the Labor Day weekend.

  • AMEA Kicks Off 2015 Scholarship Program

    Each year, AMEA and its Members make available 33, $2,500 scholarships, which include regular and technical school scholarships. To be eligible for either of AMEA’s scholarships, a student’s family must receive electric service from a Member’s electric utility and the student must attend an Alabama college or university.
