Senior citizens and their loved ones are invited to the 8th Annual Health & Wealth Fair on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the James P. Nix Center in Fairhope. The event is co-sponsored by the City of Fairhope’s James P. Nix Center and Optimum Asset Management of Daphne. The event begins at 9 am and features informational displays from area businesses and professionals in the health and financial fields, door prizes, and three keynote speakers.

City of Fairhope Community Cleanup Slated For Saturday, September 21
Saturday, September 21, marks the 26th annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup, and for Fairhope residents, it’s a good opportunity to not only clean up along the coast but to clean up city wide. Again this year the City of Fairhope is encouraging neighborhood groups and others to join together to pick up trash and help make a difference.

Fairhope Museum of History 5th Annual “Elderberry Festival”
The Fairhope Museum of History will celebrate the fifth annual “Elderberry Festival” on Saturday, August 17, 2013. The festival will begin at 10:00 am at the Fairhope Museum of History and end with the “Elderberry Ball” from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The Elderberry Festival will present a wealth of information about the berry, a lowland weed prevalent in Baldwin County, that has been used for generations to create folk remedies, jams, jellies, baked goods and more.

The Fairhope City Council Chamber is about to become the first public facility in the state of Alabama to be “looped,” according to Fairhope City Council President Jack Burrell and Dr. H.C. “Moon” Mullins, who are working with an effort sponsored by the Eastern Shore Sertoma Club.
