City of Fairhope Finance Department Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Finance Director Jill Cabaniss and the City of Fairhope by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

PORTION OF FAIRHOPE AVENUE BETWEEN BISHOP & HIGHWAY 13 CLOSED ON SEPTEMBER 15
FAIRHOPE -- A portion of Fairhope Avenue between Bishop Road (next to the Courthouse and south of the Intermediate School) and County Road 13 will be closed Tuesday, September 15th. City crews will be working to replace a culvert beneath the roadway. The road will remain open during morning school traffic but will close as soon as school is in session and may be closed for the remainder of the day.

NIX CENTER AND OPTIMUM ASSET MANAGEMENT PRESENT HEALTH & WEALTH FAIR
Senior citizens and their loved ones are invited to the 10th Annual Health & Wealth Fair on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the James P. Nix Center in Fairhope. The event is co-sponsored by the City of Fairhope’s James P. Nix Center and Optimum Asset Management of Daphne. The event begins at 9 a.m. and features informational displays from area businesses and professionals in the health and financial fields, door prizes, and three keynote speakers.

Swim Lessons at the Fairhope Municipal Pool
Registration is currently open for October swim lessons. Swim lessons begin October 5 and run through the 28. They will be held on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:45 p.m. and are $80.00 for the session.

The Fairhope Museum of History will host “Tea for Two”
The Fairhope Museum of History will host “Tea for Two” on September 1 at 2:00 p.m. The speaker will be John Borom. Each Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m., the Museum hosts a 'tea' where guests enjoy a cup of delicious Baldwin County tea, cookies and a lecture on an interesting aspect of Fairhope history. These very popular afternoon events are sponsored by the Friends of the Museum group.

Fairhope’s History Featured in Round Up Day Play
This year the Fairhope Museum will celebrate Fairhope’s 121st birthday by producing the 4th annual Round Up Play, which will take place at the Colony Cemetery on November 14, 2015, at 11:00 am and again at 2:00 pm. People attending can park at the Fairhope Civic Center and the $10 tickets can be purchased at the gate.
