“The City of Fairhope Permitting Jurisdiction contains multiple Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) as designated on the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs)  dated April 19, 2019.  In accordance with the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations (44 CFR § 60.3 - Flood plain management criteria for flood-prone areas) the City has adopted and enforces floodplain development regulations via the City’s Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance (#1643).
