The City of Fairhope will host a ceremony for the K-1 Center purchase at 1 p.m. Friday, July 26th, on the front lawn of the K-1 Center.
Officials from the Baldwin County Board of Education will be on hand to receive the $2.5 million check from city officials. A provision of the sale will require the city will pay $300,000 per year for the next five years that will go directly to the five Fairhope schools with recommendations from the Fairhope Educational Advisory Committee in coordination with the Fairhope school principals and the Superintendent of the Baldwin County schools.
The purchase also includes the land occupied by Fairhoper’s Community Park, across Church Street from the K-1 Center, as well as the Nix Center property on Bayou Drive.
