The Fairhope Museum of History and the Museum Friends organization will host Round Up Day, the annual celebration of Fairhope’s founding, on Friday, November 15, 2013. This year’s birthday party will be held on the exact date the small group of settlers arrived on the shores of Mobile Bay in 1894 to found a community based on the idea and ideals of the single tax theory.
Museum staff, docents, and volunteers honor our founders who, through their hard work, forward-thinking, and perseverance, established the community we all enjoy today. Round Up Day festivities will take place throughout the day and will include living history demonstrations, tours of the Museum, birthday cake, stories and legends of those early days, a Round Up Dance, and other activities designed to celebrate Fairhope’s past.
