Each Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m., the Museum hosts a 'tea' where guests enjoy a cup of delicious Baldwin County tea, cookies and a lecture on an interesting aspect of Fairhope history. These very popular afternoon events are sponsored by the Friends of the Museum group. The Fairhope Museum of History invites everyone to attend for colorful, interesting and entertaining afternoons at the museum. For more information on the upcoming “Tea for Two” programs, call the Fairhope Museum of History at 929-1471.
Upcoming Programs
March 8 – Lt. Larry Sledge – Officer Sledge will tell us about his life here in Fairhope and his activities in the Police Dept. This is another of several programs we have had introducing our Fairhope Police officers. These have been very fun programs.
March 15 – Felisha Anderson – Felisha is the director of the Baldwin County Commission, Dept. of Archives and History. She will tell us about the extensive collection of Baldwin Co. archival material and of their many community involvement programs.
March 22 – Capt. Rusty Kilgore – Capt. Kilgore left his home in North Alabama when he was only 15 years old to “go to sea”. He worked in the Merchant Marines until he retired to Fairhope and has a wonderful selection of old salty sea stories to tell.
March 29 – Michael Titford – Michael is a docent here at your museum and a philatelist (stamp collector). He has a slide show presentation on historical stamps of Alabama which includes some intriguing history of our state.
