The City of Fairhope will again be hosting their annual New Year’s Eve Celebration in the streets of downtown Fairhope. Residents and visitors are invited to bring their families and ring in the New Year in Fairhope. The band will begin playing at 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Fairhope Avenue and Church Street. Other entertainment will include a DJ, face painting, fireworks and a ball drop at midnight.

Many downtown restaurants will be open for those who wish to eat in downtown and then just hangout until midnight.

In order to properly prepare, Fairhope Avenue between Section Street and Summit Street will close at 1:30 p.m. Church Street between De La Mare Avenue and Fairhope Avenue will also close at 1:30 p.m. Church Street from the corner of Fairhope Avenue to Magnolia Avenue will close at 12:30 p.m. Entry to public parking on Church Street will be left open. Section Street will be left open to through traffic; handicap parking will be available on Section Street in designated handicap areas and in the parking lot behind Julwin’s.
