The Fairhope Library Foundation has a big event planned for April. The 7th annual Hoot Scoot, a 5k run, takes place Friday, April 24, beginning at 6 p.m., as racers of all ages take to the streets. This year’s race offers prizes for both prediction and speed: awards will go to the top five males and females who finish closest to their predicted times in the 5K, as well as to the three fastest male and female finishers.
Race Director Erin Hendricks said, “The Hoot Scoot is the only evening race offered in Fairhope. The twilight route through downtown and the festive family atmosphere put this race in a category all its own."
Registration opens in March. For information on the race, entry fees, etc., visit www.hootscoot5K.com All race proceeds benefit the Fairhope Public Library. The Fairhope Public Library Foundation was established in 2008 to develop public and private financial support for the Fairhope Public Library. Through fundraising events such as the Hoot Scoot, the library is able to provide services, programs, equipment and materials needed to realize its full potential as a preeminent educational, intellectual, and cultural center of Fairhope.
