Fairhope Public Library Chocolate & Champagne Fantasy

  • Date: 02/08/2014
  • Location: Fairhope Public Library

There’s a mystery brewing at the Fairhope Public Library as the Friends of the Library plot a fiendish night of “Murder in the Library” for the 2014 Chocolate & Champagne Fantasy, Saturday, February 8.

“Murder mystery events are popular, so we thought this would be fun,” said Mary Gregg, 2014 co-chair along with Lori Shamszadeh. “For the third time, we’ll partner with our friends from Theatre 98 who will be in costume that night, this time as infamous murders such as Jack the Ripper or Lizzie Borden while famous detectives like Sherlock Holmes and Watson and Colombo pursue them. It should be an interesting night.”

Chocolate & Champagne is the Friends largest fundraiser. The 2013 event raised more than $13,000 for the library, thanks in part to a silent auction with more than 200 items donated by area businesses and individuals, and an exciting live auction that again will be hosted by Cecil and Linda Christenberry from Old Tyme Feed. Tickets will go on sale at the library, the Friends bookstore, and other outlets, after the first of the year.
