Bus tours of Fairhope’s historic sites, led by Fairhope Museum of History director Donnie Barrett, will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2014. The tours are conducted on a comfortable and cool motor coach.
Barrett has developed a new route for this summer’s tours. Tours of east Fairhope on the morning tours and west Fairhope on the afternoon tours. Learn about the Fairhope single tax, early real estate developments, where the homes of Fairhope’s founders were, where early nudist groups cavorted, why Fairhope Avenue has a sharp curve, and many other interesting, little known and enticing stories about Fairhope.
Four tours will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014: 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 pm. and 3:00 p.m. The tours are for approximately one hour. Tickets are $15 each with payment by cash or check only. Tickets go on sale at the Museum of History during Museum hours beginning Friday, July 5, 2014. Due to the popularity of these tours, reservations are not taken; guests must purchase and pick up tickets in person at the Museum. Buy your tickets early – these tours sell out quickly.
