The Fairhope-Point Clear Rotary Youth Club ("RYC"), a local non-profit organization, will be holding an Open House on Thursday, June 26 from 9am until 3pm.  RYC is located at 19128 Young Street in Fairhope. The purpose of the Open House is to allow families and supporters to visit the Club and learn more about its services and programs.

The mission of the Rotary Youth Club is to empower youth so they can realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.  RYC offers year-round programs to youth ages 5-18.  During the school year, RYC offers its After School Program from 3pm until 6pm.

During the summer, it has extended hours and engages its participants in fun, diverse activities.  In July, RYC will also be offering its Summer Enrichment Academy which is supported in part by Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (FEEF), United Way of Baldwin County and Dollar General Literacy Foundation.  This portion of the program takes place on Mondays - Thursdays from 9am until noon at the J. Larry Newton School, and the youth receive hands-on learning in reading, math and science by certified teachers.

"The Summer Program is an opportunity for youth to have great experiences through field trips and special programs, and also be engaged in educational activities to prevent summer learning loss and prepare them for a new year in school," said RYC Club Director Mark Stejskal. "It's summer, and we don't want it to feel too structured, but we do want to provide these kids with a vehicle to retain a grasp on what they've learned. We can do this in a fun environment."

There are still some spots available for the Summer Program, and RYC is accepting enrollment applications for the 2014-2015 After School Program.
